Our junior activity programme is back, giving kids the opportunity to stay healthy and active. We have a variety of activities, from Wet & Wacky to 813 Cardio Fit, which are suitable from 15 months up-to 13 year olds. There is something for everyone in our centres across Bournemouth, Poole and Portsmouth.

DESCRIPTIONS

  • Mini Gym – A structured introduction to gymnastics, learning basic skills using actual gymnastic equipment and soft play.
  • Pre-Club Gym – A structured gym session for independent children where the adult sits at the side. Please attend a few mini gym sessions before attending pre-club gym.
  • Tots Trampolining – Structured trampolining class teaching the basic skills .

The above sessions all follow British Gymnastic Guidelines.

  • Soccer Starters – Learn basic skills in this fun session for young dribblers and strikers!
  • 813 Cardio Fit – You’ll be able to take it at your own pace using the CV equipment in Gym area one. Gym staff will be on hand for advice.
    813 Circuits – circuits class in the studio to work your full body and have fun!
  • Teen Spin – For young people who are in Year 8 upwards to age 17. Minimum height is 4.11 without exception. Come along for your first taste of studio cycling with people your age! Hot, sweaty and hard work but suitable for all abilities – go on, give it a go!
  • Yoga FIT – A modern mix of yoga HIT intervals, flow, fun, balancing, meditation and breathing.
  • Gym Open Session – Work out with your child. Adults must have previously had an induction and be a confident gym user as you will lead your child in your own gym workout! Children must be accompanied at all times and should not use weights or go into the weights area of the gym.
  • First Splash Adult and Baby – The first steps of taking your baby into the pool. This session focuses on confidence building activities for baby and carer. For children aged 2 years and an adult. A perfect activity for your first water experience!
  • Family Spin – This is a fun class that takes a twist on a normal spin session to make it engaging for juniors and adults! It is led by an enthusiastic instructor to keep you pushing your limits to the max whilst also having fun. The session involves our top of the spec bikes and exhilarating music. Minimum height is 4.11 without exception.
  • 813 Junior Gym – Improves fitness, strength, balance and coordination in our structured gym sessions taught by our gym instructors.
  • 813 Boxing – Fun and engaging fitness which caters for beginners and those coming back to boxing (following England Boxing COVID-19 guidelines – if you have your own gloves, please bring them).
  • Family Yoga – Traditional yoga involving plenty of stretches, family bond building and calm moments; but don’t forget your children!
  • Athletics Academy – An introduction to athletics which gives children the confidence to move into a club when they reach 8 years+. Ideal for children to learn agility, balance and coordination.
  • Gym Open Session – Work out with your child. Adults must have previously had an induction and be a confident gym user as you will lead your child in your own gym workout! Children must be accompanied at all times and should not use weights or go into the weights area of the gym.
  • Tots Tennis – children from 2 years old will develop basic tennis skills a long with agility, balance and coordination involving plenty of games. Delivered in a fun and friendly environment, players will learn how to work in groups and follow instructions, giving them a head start in sport. (Pay as you go only – not included in family or junior membership. Discount to junior members).

Frequently Asked Questions

I am happy to reactivate my child’s junior/family membership; do I need to do anything?

If you are happy to reactivate your junior membership in September 2020 you do not need to do anything except familiarise yourself with the safety measures we have put in place, and what you need to know before you visit. You will also need to make sure you have set up your account for online booking as all activities will need to be booked in advance. 

My child is not ready to restart their membership yet, what are my options?

If you are not quite ready to restart your membership, or want to wait a bit longer, you can continue freezing your membership.   If you haven’t already requested this option, select your membership type from the options below and follow the prompts.

If would like to cancel your membership, please complete our online cancellation request form. 

When will you be putting on 5-7 and 8-13 classes?

We will continue to add more activities to our junior timetable over the coming weeks. Please continue to check our website and app for further detail and updates.

How do I book my child onto an activity?

All activities  must  be booked ahead of your visit You can do this either via our app or website.

If you were booking online prior to closure you should be able to log in with the same details.   If you have not booked online or via the app before, or you have forgotten your password, please follow these steps.

    • Step 1:  Go to our booking site and reset password  
    • Step 2:  Enter the email address registered (this is the one we have contacted you on) and request new password, you may also be prompted for a member ID – this can be found on your email. 
    • Step 3:  Check your inbox for a password reset email address and follow the instructions. If you are already using this email address for yours, or someone else’s bookings, the passwords must be different. 
    • Step 4:  Go to https://my.bhliveactive.org.uk/Connect/ or our app and log in
