Frequently Asked Questions

The friendly Littledown Juniors team is on hand to help out with all your questions and keep the leagues running smoothly. Here are some FAQs. If you have any further questions, please ask us when you visit.

  • What’s happening with the last two weeks of the 2019/2020 season? In light of the current situation, we will be taking the final league tables as they stand. The two weeks missed from the 2019/20 season will be compensated for any current players who are returning (see below).
  • Are we getting a refund for any weeks missed from 2019/20 season? All players returning will be discounted to compensate for the final two weeks of the season.
  • How do we return our shirts from last season?
    • SATURDAY PLAYERS – You can now drop your kit bags (footballs, whistles, team folders etc) and shirts back into the Littledown Customer Service.
    • FRIDAY NIGHT PLAYERS – On the first day of your new season (Friday 11 September) you will need to return your team shirt to our team by the 3G pitches. Make sure you give your name so we can tick you off our list. Once we have the shirts, they will be washed and redistributed according to your teams for the new season. If you decide to not continue with LDJ, your deposit will be returned as soon as conveniently possible. Please keep an eye on our Facebook page for more information about this.
  • What’s happened to the early bird offer? We are unable to carry over our pre-lockdown early bird offer. However, we will be offering a reduced price for the new season to our returning players – please speak with us about this.
  • Can I still get my Player Award trophy? We’d still like to put on an end of 2019/20 season celebration to give our trophies. However, if you would prefer, trophies will be available for collection during the first month of the season from Charlotte in the football office on Match Days ONLY. If you are able to discuss with your team in advance and have one person collect the trophies for the whole team, this would be greatly appreciated.
  • What’s happening with 2019/20 end of season celebration? This event has been postponed for the time being but will be held at a later date and will be in line with Government guidelines.
  • What is happening to our ‘Rainy Day’ offers? These can be used at a later date – keep your eye on our Facebook page for updates.
  • I won the Photo of the Month Competition, what happens to my prizes? When we return to a more normal community, these prizes will be honoured and will be able to be used at a later date. Keep an eye on our Facebook page for updates on when and how to book your activities.
  • When can new people enrol? Once we have called all of our players from last season, we will then call all of our players on the waiting list. After this we will advertise on our Facebook page that we are taking new joiners to fill any remaining spaces.
  • What procedures are in place to be COVID secure?
    • We have carefully reviewed all advice and guidance from the FA and have reflected this in our COVID-19 risk assessment and league rules for the new season
    • We have created a full COVID-19 risk assessment which will be sent out to every player along with their allocation email
    • Our team will be registering each player as part of the ‘Track and Trace’ scheme – we ask that anyone with symptoms of coronavirus (COVID-19) inform us as soon as possible, not attend LDJ and follow the Government guidelines thereafter
    • There will be different entry points to the pitches for each age group – please follow staff instructions on arrival
    • Our second time slot has been moved to the later time of 10:05am to allow players from the first time slot to leave
    • We are asking for only one parent/guardian to attend with a player. Please try to avoid bringing siblings where possible to reduce our numbers on site
    • Spectators will be asked to remain on only 1 side-line and not mix with the opposition’s spectators. Please respect social distancing at all times
    • The ball will be sanitised between each match
    • Sorry no handshakes at this time – but we do encourage clapping your own hands
    • Where possible please bring your own hand sanitiser to use between matches
    • Fixture sheets will be posted on Facebook each week with master copies displayed in A-frames
    • League tables will be posted on Facebook
